Mary graduated in Adelaide in 1975 and worked initially as a physiotherapist at the QEH and has since been working in the Grange area for more than 30 years.
Whilst at the QEH, she learned dry needling/acupuncture from the head of the Physical Medicine Department, Dr Bunt Burnell. With more than three decades of experience, Mary practices all aspects of physiotherapy, including dry needling and acupuncture. She also remains committed to continuing education in both physio and acupuncture.
Mary is highly regarded for her strong patient focus and is committed to tailoring treatments to suit individual patient needs. Mary's enthusiasm,
energy and experience contribute to her patient's treatment success. Each patient leaves the treatment session with a positive and often lifestyle-changing experience.
Mary also works part-time as a babysitting, dedicated granny! When she isn’t at work you might find her at a park or shopping for toys with one of her 10 grandchildren. Her favourite past times include walking, playing bridge, enjoying the company and activities at her club, socialising in general, and wine appreciation in particular. Mary has enjoyed glass-blowing at the Jam Factory and you can see some of her finished product in the practice.

No, you do not need a referral to see one of our physiotherapists. However, if your doctor has referred you, please bring all paperwork with you including any test results that may have been done (Ultrasounds, X-Rays, CT scans, MRI etc). Alternatively, You can upload the files when booking an appointment.
Please arrive a few minutes early as you will need to fill in some paperwork to register you on our systems. The physiotherapist will spend time with you to understand your history and any other information that will assist in the treatment programme. The therapist will perform a hands-on assessment to better understand your injury. He/she will arrive at a physiotherapy diagnosis and formulate and implement a treatment plan with your goals in mind. Finally, the physiotherapist will begin treatment.
This is variable depending on your diagnosis, the severity of your complaints and your response to treatment. Your progress will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and your goals revisited to ensure progress meets your expectations.
Wear comfortable and loose clothing so that you can expose the area that needs to be evaluated and treated. If you have a lower back or leg injury, it is a good idea to bring a pair of shorts. If you do not have, we also have shorts and patient gowns for you to change into.
The first assessment usually lasts 40 minutes to allow enough time for proper assessment and treatment. Ongoing physiotherapy treatments generally last 30 minutes spent with your physiotherapist. However please leave enough time for hot packs or ice after the treatment has finished, therefore it is best to plan for around 45 to 50 minutes for the full session.
The practice is linked with HICAPS, which allows you to claim your rebate from your health fund, directly from our practice. The gap does vary between the different health funds and your level of cover, please check with your health fund to find out more or give us a call to find out what is included in your plan and what your out of pocket expenses will be.
Yes, we do. Please bring your doctors referral, medical certificates and provide all details that relate to your claim. Please contact the practice if you require more information.
