David graduated in Adelaide in 1997, and immediately left for Geelonghaving been drafted by the Geelong Football Club following a very successfulcareer in football in SA. David was captain of the South Aust Teal cup team andplayed in the SANFL for Woodville West Torrens whilst he wasstudying physiotherapy in Adelaide.
In Geelong, David managed to juggle a career in football and working as aphysio at the Corio Base Sports Injury Clinic. A severe hip and knee injurysaw an end to his football career and David then moved to Darwin where heworked as a physio in private practice.
David returned to SA in 2000 and has been a strong part of Physio at Grange ever since. He has a keen interest in all sport and sporting injuries including but not limited to those associated with dance, soccer, football, netball, basketball, and tennis. David's calm and methodical manner and 'hands on' approach makes each treatment session extremely rewarding.
David can often be seen early morning walking around Grange with a coffee in hand. Much time is spent with his twin boys, Marco and Samuel, and their insatiable appetite for sport together with youngest son, Alexander, who is not far behind.
Peter graduated with a Physiotherapy degree at UniSA in 1986 and has worked in a wide range of fields within the physio realm, starting in country Whyalla and Port Augusta.
Subsequently, Peter would own and run his own practice in the Adelaide Hills, travel with sports teams, and become very involved in the Volleyball community in Adelaide SA, in both a coaching and physio capacity.
Peter enjoys the vibrant team at Grange, the delightful clientele and hands-on approach of the physio. Peter has never really been one for putting a machine on and walking away.
Peter enjoys problem-solving with clients, using exercises, trigger point therapy and corrective techniques to resolve pain.Ask him about his passion for trains!
No, you do not need a referral to see one of our physiotherapists. However, if your doctor has referred you, please bring all paperwork with you including any test results that may have been done (Ultrasounds, X-Rays, CT scans, MRI etc). Alternatively, You can upload the files when booking an appointment.
Please arrive a few minutes early as you will need to fill in some paperwork to register you on our systems. The physiotherapist will spend time with you to understand your history and any other information that will assist in the treatment programme. The therapist will perform a hands-on assessment to better understand your injury. He/she will arrive at a physiotherapy diagnosis and formulate and implement a treatment plan with your goals in mind. Finally, the physiotherapist will begin treatment.
This is variable depending on your diagnosis, the severity of your complaints and your response to treatment. Your progress will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and your goals revisited to ensure progress meets your expectations.
Wear comfortable and loose clothing so that you can expose the area that needs to be evaluated and treated. If you have a lower back or leg injury, it is a good idea to bring a pair of shorts. If you do not have, we also have shorts and patient gowns for you to change into.
The first assessment usually lasts 40 minutes to allow enough time for proper assessment and treatment. Ongoing physiotherapy treatments generally last 30 minutes spent with your physiotherapist. However please leave enough time for hot packs or ice after the treatment has finished, therefore it is best to plan for around 45 to 50 minutes for the full session.
The practice is linked with HICAPS, which allows you to claim your rebate from your health fund, directly from our practice. The gap does vary between the different health funds and your level of cover, please check with your health fund to find out more or give us a call to find out what is included in your plan and what your out of pocket expenses will be.
Yes, we do. Please bring your doctors referral, medical certificates and provide all details that relate to your claim. Please contact the practice if you require more information.
